Good morning to you all and I pray your day is going to be wonderful. Today I want to focus on prayer. Does anyone know what it means when Jesus says to pray without ceasing. He tells us to rejoice in all things. You are thinking, oh yeah right. How can I rejoice when things are going so badly, or someone you love has cancer or dying. Or even died. When you think of the worse things that could possibly happen to you how do you respond. Do you go on your knees and stay there pleading for God to give you the answers you so desperately need.
In my next chapter, chapter 26, I relate some experiences of my own heartaches. I am so thankful I learned a long time ago who to go to when I was hurting. When bad things happen I go directly on my knees and sometimes, yes, I scream at God, asking where is He. I don't get off my knees until He answers. Until I feel the blessing and the peace that I came for, no matter who long it takes. Then, after all that frustration is out of me and I am quiet enough to listen to what God has to say, I finally accept what is going on around me in a better frame of mind. First I always have to tell Him what I think and sometimes it is not in a nice way. God understands that because no matter how upset I am at Him, He never lets me down with His answers.
God wants us to come to Him with all of our frustrations and pray without ceasing, until we feel we get our answers. After praying we then can start rejoicing, turning to the word of God and receive the comfort from that word that we need. I know this is hard to do sometime, especially when we are going through a certain situation but if you give it a try, I promise you it will work. It always has for me. Our scripture today is found in 1Thessalonians 5:16,17. It says,
"Rejoice always; pray without ceasing; in everything give thanks; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you."
Rejoice always? Pray without ceasing? Amazing concepts! He has reasons for asking you to do this. You are to find the joy of trusting Him at all times, and learn how to endure in prayer while the battle rages.May you find a blessing in today no matter what the circumstances are. Always look for the good in everything and everyone and I guarantee you will find it.
Jesus wants us to love one another and when we have the love that only He can give we will know the true peace that is within us. There will be no more wondering what this person meant by their words or hurt by one another. We will understand each other and always say the right things, being kind and tender hearted toward one another. Let us pray for ourselves to be that way now while here on this earth. In my next chapter of my book, chapter 23 we learn how God's word gives us life. We should take hold of all that Jesus tells us starting when we are young. His word will give us light so we don't stumble and it will teach us how to stay on the right path. We are to teach our children right from the start who to rely on in life. Then they will always know where to go when things are not right in their lives. When you are taught from a young age about the love of God things do not look so bleak. When those times come that you just don't know which way to turn, you will know where to turn, not to drugs, or liquor that only give you a help for a short time, but is truly destroying your body, but the right doctoring that will help you from the inside out and make you a different person. Our scripture is found in Proverbs 4:10-13, It says: "Hear, my son, and receive my sayings, and the years of your life will be many, I have taught you in the way of wisdom; I have led you in the right paths. When you walk, your steps will not be hindered, and when you run, you will not stumble. Take firm hold of instruction, do not let go; keep her, for she is your life." His word will give you life. Read, receive and live it. May you have a wonderful blessed day.
Good morning everyone. I pray you are having a wonderful start to your day. Remembering to start it with God. If you have little ones sit them down for a few moments before breakfast and talk to them about Jesus and how He loves all the little children and He will watch over them through this day. My next chapter, chapter 11, is about my children when they were small. I remember one incident when God was watching over us. We decided to take a walk one day, a very long walk, you can read about the details in my book, Journey to a Better Land, It was a very hot August day and my children were little. I remember how thirsty they were and I forgot to bring water with me. We still had a very long way to go before reaching our destination and I knew that this thirst problem with my boys could turn out disastrous. you know what I mean if you ever had little ones thinking they are in a bad situation:).
I decided to pray right there on the spot concerning our dilemma and when I finished praying I saw, right in front of me, a huge green juicy pepper. Wow! I was thinking, where did this pepper come from? There were only woods all around us, not a house for long way. I knew right then that God sent us that pepper. I picked it up and broke it into pieces and shared it all around which quenched their thirst just fine. I am telling you, I thanked God for His loving watch care over my children.
He is watching over your children too. He really does love it when we tell him our problems and ask Him for specifics. He will always answer, sometime not as clearly as He did that day, but He will answer non the less. Give it a try, who knows, maybe it will be a clear answer. My point is to always give all of our situations, whether good or bad to Him. Remember that He is watching over your children and He does care. He cared enough to answer this mom’s prayer when my little ones needed the help. Not only did He answer then but continued answering every time I needed Him. Our scripture for today is found in Isaiah 54:13. It says “And all your children shall be taught by the Lord, and great shall be the peace of your children.”
You can trust your children into God’s hands. Bring them to Him. He is a refuge for them. May you all have a blessed day today.
Happy May everyone, I am so glad to see May. May to me is like a breath of spring air. With flowers everywhere and the weather is nice. This morning I would like to encourage everyone who is under a lot of stress to take it to Jesus, He is the only one that will take hold of your hand and give you peace.
In my tenth chapter of my book I talk about the stress I was under when I found out I was pregnant for my second child. My first child was only 9 months and I was totally unprepared for this happening again. I was so sick just like when I carried my first but I knew I could not leave to go live with my parents again. I had to struggle this one on my own.
My sweet Memere came to stay with us for a while and that was a big help, but she did not stay long and my sickness always would last until I had the baby. Again I was almost 4 weeks over due, just like my first. Besides that we were so tight with money that I decided to take on childcare to help with the expenses. Talk about stress while being pregnant and so sick. I had a house full of children including my own little one running everywhere.
I remember sitting down one day, totally exhausted and not ready at all to have my second child but by then he was ready to come soon. I opened up God’s word and he spoke to me and told me not to fear, that he will take hold of me by His hand. What an encouragement that was for me.
If you find yourself in the same situation, not knowing where to turn and everything seems to be closing in on you remember that Jesus is very near. Talk to Him as you would a friend and open your Bible and He will guide you into just what you need to hear. Our scripture for the day and the one that God showed me when I needed it most is found in Isaiah 41:10. it says “Fear not, for I am with you. Be not dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you. Yes, I will help you; I will uphold you with My righteous right hand.”
When Jesus is living in your heart there is nothing ever to fear, for you know that God is on your side. He will give the strength and help that is needed, holding your hand and never letting go. May God give you all such a wonderful blessing today. Enjoy the first day of May. God bless you!
Good morning everyone! Hope you are having a wonderful start to your day. Remember to always start your morning with God and He will get you through all the challenges this day will bring your way. When you place God first in your life you will see clearly how He always has you on His mind. No matter what the challenges of this new day holds, you can face them all with peace in your heart when you start your day with God. Chapter nine of my book shows the reader how to put all of your trust in God. The challenges that faced Mark and I as we started our new life together. Being young and having so little, living in Connecticut without electricity and refrigerator and heat for a whole year was definitely challenging. Then I became pregnant, which added even more stress to the already stressful situation. I became so sick I had to leave my husband and go to my parents, which was not the ideal home to be in while carrying a precious soul inside of me. I had to endure the alcohol, smoking and fights that were constantly a part of my parents home. I had no other choice but to figure a way to endure it because I was much too sick to be alone. I found away with God’s help to block everything that was bad out. God showed me the way.
Whatever you are facing, no matter how big or small, remember to give it all to God and He will be there for you and show you the way out. Our scripture for today is Psalm 115:11,12 “You who fear the Lord trust in the Lord, He is their help and their shield. The Lord has been mindful of us…He will bless those who fear the Lord, both small and great.”
God knows what your needs are. You are always in His mind and if you love and trust Him, He will honor you. Have a wonderful day and don’t forget to start it with God.
