Continuing on our journey

Encouragement for the day

Good morning everyone, it is a rainy week and very humid out there. At least the 100 degrees we have been experiencing is finished for a while. It is still in the high 80's and humid. That is not good either but I have the fresh air and sunshine of Jesus in my heart this morning. I am so thankful for all that He has done for me through all of my life. Through all the ups and downs, sadness and joys, God has always been by my side, to encourage me along my way.

Have you ever found yourself in the position that you have a hard time forgiving the ones that have hurt you. I know I have and I am know that I have been on the other side, hurting someone else. I pray everyday for myself that I do not hurt anyone and if I do I pray they find it in their heart to forgive me.

In my last chapter of my book, chapter 43 I talk about forgiveness. I had to forgive my parents and all those involved while I was growing up and that was so hard to do. God showed me the way to do it. I am thankful God showed me how to forgive. When we harbor hate toward those who do us wrong, and we don’t want to forgive, something happens inside of us. It is like a cancer that grows and grows until the love we could have toward one another dies. Only through persevering prayer can we let go of the anger, fear and hurt. God comes in and heals and removes all of it, and replaces it with peace and love. Lets not hang on to the hurt feelings toward each other, give it to God and He will heal your heart.  Today I have 2  scriptures to help encourage us. The first one is found in Micah 7:18,19. It reads,

"Who is a God like you, pardoning iniquity
and passing over the transgression of the
remnant of His heritage? He does not retain
His anger forever, because He delights in
mercy. He will again have compassion on
us, and will subdue our iniquities. You will
cast all our sins into the depths of the sea."

Praise God! He throws all of our sins into the deepest sea, never to remember them anymore, how much more should we do for each other. Let us not remember the hurts that we experience but practice forgiving and becoming more like Jesus. I know this is hard but with Jesus' help we can do it. In 1 John 1;9 it says,

"If we confess our sins He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness."

Then we shall experience the peace we need. In our next scripture, Philippians 4:7, we read,

"And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus."

Do you need God’s peace today? Come within the shelter and protection of His word.

Let us all have the peace in our hearts today that God wants us to have. Have a wonderful day.
